MRN to take part in Lithium-Ion Battery Safety Commission. The Commission to Advance Lithium–Ion Battery Safety in Maryland, passed under
HB468 this past session, will be convening in September. MRN will be participating in the commission as a representative of the recycling and solid waste communities
(more details to come).

The deadline to apply for USDA's Composting and Food Waste Reduction (CFWR) pilot projects is September 4, 2024. Selected projects will develop and test strategies for planning and implementing municipal compost plans and food waste reduction plans and are part of USDA’s broader efforts to support urban agriculture.
